On Saturday, Oct 4 the QC Pickleball Club worked with the QC Adaptive Sports Association to put on the first ever Adaptive Sports Pickleball Tournament. There were eight teams, each with one wheelchair player and one standing player.
Eight of our club members volunteered to play as an "adaptive team" to supplement the eight players who joined from the Adaptive Sports group. They took turns playing in a wheelchair. The players were Doug and Marge Sullivan, Rodney and Angie Taylor, Connie Coene and Kathy Necker, and Andrea Willoughby and Judy Petersen.
Thanks to Laurie Ochs, the tournament came off very well, and everyone involved had a lot of fun.
