QC SUMMER GAMES TOURNAMENT

Riverside Park May 17/18

This will be organized by local pickleballer Todd Rosenthal, whom many of you know. Mixed doubles, men's doubles, women's doubles, men's singles and women's singles will be offered in that order starting on Saturday morning, May 17 (Sunday will be used as an overflow day, if needed).

Groupings will be set up with both age groups and self-assessed and DUPR levels taken into account. Format and other details will depend on the numbers as the date gets closer. Updates will be communicated to registrants by email. Medals will be given out in 5-year age groups. The tournament will be sponsored by JOOLA and will use the outdoor balls they supply.

A bit about the QC Summer Games.

Put on by volunteers as a Quad Cities community event for those 40 and over, now in its 34th year. There are about 50 events to choose from - not all of them sports-related. In 2025 the Games will begin with pickleball on May 17 and culminate on May 31 with track and field.

The Games offer a bundle of sports and non-sports competitive activities.

The single $40 reg fee entitles one to unlimited events, a tee shirt, up to 3 earned medals, and a picnic meal at the closing ceremonies. So, the price is right. Pickleballers can come for the pickleball and participate in a few other things - all for one price. Maybe try bocce, cornhole, a short bike race or submit something to the art and crafts competition!
